Our local placenta pick-up service is available to anyone within 100 miles of our lab located in Jackson, MI. Our pick-up hours are 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, we are ready when you are! If you have questions about your location, please contact us and we will be happy to help. We also offer our easy shipping option for those that live outside our pick-up area.

How it works:

1. Book with us. Here you will get to choose your placenta encapsulation package. We will also gather more information about you and your pregnancy. After you have booked with us, we will reach out to you with more details on the next step.

We do require a courier fee to be paid at the time of booking. This fee covers the cost of shipping our local Placenta Collection Kit to you, the cost of picking up the placenta, and dropping off your finished placenta encapsulation package to you. The courier fee is $50 if you live in Jackson County and $100 if you live outside Jackson County.

2. Six weeks before your due date we will send you a Placenta Collection Kit. Our Placenta Collection Kit will include instructions on what to do, a leak proof food-grade container, and a Whirl-Pak sterile bag to store your placenta in.

3. When it’s baby time, bring the small leak proof container and Whirl-Pak bag to your birthing location. Please let us know by a quick call or text when you are in labor so we can prepare for your placenta to be picked up.

Once you are at your birthing location, inform your team that you are keeping your placenta. Once the placenta is delivered, ask them to place it in the Whirl-Pak bag and then put it in the small leak proof container and seal it. (They may provide a different bag to place the placenta in and that is perfectly fine, as long as the bag seals and it fits into the container)

4. Please let us know by call or text when your placenta is ready for pick up. One of our team members will arrive as soon as possible to retrieve it, within 4 hours of letting us know.

The placenta is viable for 4 hours un-refrigerated. Once it has hit the 4-hour mark, it needs to be put into a refrigerator or put on ice. Most hospitals have a refrigerator you can store it in or have ice available if need be. It’s best to contact us as soon as you can after delivery so we can arrive within the 4-hour mark. We will bring a cooler with ice to transport the placenta back to our lab. Once your placenta arrives at our lab, we immediately start the encapsulation process.

5. Please allow 48-72 hours for processing. Once we have finished, we will contact you and hand deliver your package to you!

We do require your balance to be paid in full before we start the encapsulation process. Payment can be made in full or in installments anytime from when you booked to when we receive your placenta at our lab.

Don’t forget, we will send you detailed step by step instructions on what to do when we ship your Placenta Collection Kit to you! We are here to help every step of the way, please contact us with any questions you may have.

In the circumstance where you are unable to encapsulate your placenta, or choose not to, we will refund all but a $75 non-refundable deposit.
