Book with us. Here you will get to choose your placenta encapsulation package. We will also gather more information about you and your pregnancy. After you have booked with us, we will reach out to you with more details on the next step.We do require the shipping fee of $150 to be paid at the time of booking. This fee covers the cost of shipping the Placenta Collection Kit to you, a prepaid, next day shipping label already on the box for shipment of the placenta back to us, and the cost of shipping your finished package next day back to you.
Six weeks before your due date we will send you a Placenta Collection Kit. This kit was specially designed to ensure your placenta is always kept below critical temperatures during storage and transportation to our lab. Our Placenta Collection Kit will include instructions on what to do, a cooler, ice packs, a leak proof food-grade container and a Whirl-Pak sterile bag to store your placenta in, packaging tape and a box with a return label already on it.
Before it’s baby time, put your ice packs in the freezer so they are frozen and ready when it’s time to ship.
When it’s baby time, bring your cooler, the small leak proof container and Whirl-Pak bag to your birthing location. (Make sure to keep your ice packs in the freezer at home for shipment, they are not to keep your placenta cold at the hospital)
Once you are at your birthing location, inform your team that you are keeping your placenta. Once the placenta is delivered, ask them to place it in the Whirl-Pak bag and then put it in the small leak proof container and seal it. (They may provide a different bag to place the placenta in and that is perfectly fine, as long as the bag seals and it fits into the container)
The placenta is viable for 4 hours un-refrigerated. Once it has hit the 4-hour mark, it needs to be put into a refrigerator or freezer. If the hospital does not have a fridge, please put the placenta on ice in your cooler until it can be taken home to be frozen. (The hospital will usually have ice they can provide)
As soon as you return home from the hospital, put the container that has the placenta in it, into the freezer. The placenta then needs to be frozen for 24 hours to ensure it stays frozen during shipment.
Once the placenta has been frozen for 24 hours. Place the small leak proof container back into the cooler, with one ice pack of each side of the container, close the cooler, put it into the shipping box with the return shipping label already on the box. Tape it up with the enclosed tape and drop it off at your local USPS store.
To ensure the placenta arrives at our lab with next day shipment, please ship on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday only!
It is then overnighted to us. Once it has arrived, or process begins. Please allow 48-72 hours for processing. Once we have finished, we package it up and overnight it back to you!
We do require your balance to be paid in full before we start the encapsulation process. Payment can be made in full or in installments anytime from when you booked to when we receive your placenta at our lab.
Don’t forget, we will send you detailed step by step instructions on what to do when we ship your Placenta Collection Kit to you! We are here to help every step of the way, please contact us with any questions you may have.
In the circumstance where you are unable to encapsulate your placenta, or choose not to, we will refund all but a $75 non-refundable deposit.
